Grok in the browser

The web and mobile app — Grok 4.7 chat, Imagine, voice, file drops, connectors, and Automations. Not the terminal, and not a Bot.

Open grok.com in a normal Chromium browser (or the Grok iOS / Android apps). Sign in once — conversations, settings, and the subscription stay in sync. Use grok.com, not a leftover host: some alternate URLs hide features such as Projects.

Flagship chat model is Grok 4.7. Imagine, voice, connectors, and Automations all live on this surface. Grok Build on the web is a separate mode inside the same app.

Grok 4.7

  • Coding, agentic tool use, and knowledge work.
  • 500k context. Reasoning effort: low, medium, high (default), or extra-high where the surface offers it.
  • Knowledge cutoff is May 2026 — anything newer needs web search or a connector, not memory of the model.
  • Grok 4.7 Fast is the same model on faster hardware. It runs in Grok Build and Cursor, billed at a higher token rate, and is not on the public API and not in Build’s free tier.

What you can do without leaving the tab

  • Chat — questions, drafts, debugging, multi-turn work.
  • Imagine — images and video from the same composer. Continuity rules live in the video chapter.
  • Voice — hands-free conversation in the apps (and voice mode on the web where your plan enables it).
  • Projects — keep a thread of files and instructions together instead of one endless chat. If Projects are missing, you are probably not on grok.com.
  • Weekly usage pool — paid SuperGrok plans share one allowance across chat, Imagine, voice, and Build. Heavy raises the ceiling; it does not invent a second product.

Files

Attach with the + next to the composer, or drag-and-drop on the web. Grok reads PDFs, spreadsheets, code, images, audio, and video for extraction and summary.

ClientPractical limit
WebAbout 100 files in one message
AndroidUp to 20 files
iOSMultiple files; the picker is the limit

Connectors

Connectors are on for every Grok user. Add them at grok.com/connectors (New Connector → OAuth). Once linked, Grok calls the tool when the question is about that system. Business and Enterprise admins provision connectors in the cloud console first.

KindServices
Built-inGmail + Google Calendar, Google Drive (Docs, Sheets, Slides), OneDrive, Outlook mail + calendar, Teams, SharePoint, Salesforce
CatalogBox, Canva, Gamma, GitHub, Linear, Notion, Vercel, Meltwater, S&P Global
Custom MCPAny public MCP server — your API, database, or SaaS. Local servers need a tunnel.
Tip

In Automations and in chat, type @ to pin a connector to the job so every run uses it instead of hoping the model notices.

Automations

Describe a job once. Grok runs it later and reports back. Create one from chat (“set this up every weekday”) or at grok.com/automations. Each run is a real conversation you can open and continue.

  • Attach files, connectors, and skills before you save.
  • Notify by email, the app, both, or neither.
  • Pause, resume, edit, or delete any time. Templates are on the Automations page.

Watch out

A browser Automation is not a Grok Bot routine. Automations run inside Grok and report back. A Bot has a computer, signs into sites with no connector, and keeps working with the laptop closed. If the job needs a browser login or a multi-app click-path, use a Bot.

Build in the browser

Grok Build on web and mobile is available on every plan (opened beyond Heavy in August 2026). Describe an app, game, site, or dashboard; a working version appears in the chat. Full craft notes are in Web Build Mode. What shipped with that opening:

  • Publish a share link; Remix lets someone fork it.
  • Custom domain on a domain you own.
  • Export to GitHub, then keep going in an editor or the CLI.
  • Secrets for third-party keys, stored outside the app source.
  • Apps you build can call Grok (questions, summaries, voice) — access is per app and revocable.
